My adorable little red haired daughter-in-law said one reason she dated and married my youngest son was the way in which he treated me with such respect. She figured if he treated his Mother with so much respect, he would be respectful of her.

Awesome post. Sad and very true. I have two siblings, a brother and sister both older than me. Our Mother paddled our butts when we deserved it and it did not warp my mind or cause me to be more violent toward other people. Smacking a child on the butt does NOT begat violent behavior but teaches morals and respect. Parents today want to be their childs "friend" and that does not work. Parents need to be in control and act like parents. Kids need to be told "NO, you can't do that or NO, you can't have that". If they don't learn it as kids, they will certainly learn it as adults and won't be able to handle disappointment and/or rejection.

Richard said it all and I totally agree with him. Great advice, Richard. We love you and will be here for you, Tanya.

Sometimes I think all the medicines we take just fight with each other and fail to do their job. I know one I am not taking anymore and that is Boniva. Bad news pill. I can't believe your blood pressure was 75-80/50; I am surprised you did not blackout. Use common sense when it comes to the doctors.....just because they have a license hanging on the wall does not always mean they know what is best for you.

Hey Jenn, it's been a long time. That is a great post and I agree with you. I am not crazy about our choices but I think McCain is the lesser of two evils. Obama scares me to death. Angelina has certainly surprised me. She has turned into a concerned American and a very devoted Mom. Maybe there is hope for our beloved America.

What makes it so funny is it is TRUE!
